Dr. Karin Purvis (author of The Connected Child) and Tapestry ministry leaders, Michael and Amy Monroe, have shared some wonderful, practical information on how we can successfully parent our children from hard places. Dr. Purvis heads up the TCU Institute of Child Development in Texas, as well as runs camps and home programs for at-risk children. Dr. Purvis has the research, the education, and most importantly the hands-on experience putting all of her methods into practice with amazing results!  Dr. Purvis' heart is truly connecting with our children and together tackling their past trauma that will bring healing as we move forward together.

Dr. Purvis' Lecture series DVDs:
  • The Attachment Dance
  • Facilitating Behavioral Change
  • Healing Research
  • Sensory Integration
  • Neurochemistry of Fear
  • Empowering, Connecting and Correcting
and the Healing Families Series showing the interventions in action
  • Healthy Touch
  • Playful Interaction
  • A Sensory World
  • Behavioral Change

The FFM ministry has purchased this video library and is beneficial for both parents, or parent and support person, to watch the DVDs together with other families so discussion and ideas can be shared and we can be consistent. They are also available to check-out.
